Our primary aim is to provide high quality, modern, therapeutic mental health environments in the communities where they are needed. We believe these new facilities will provide the best mental health environments in the country. Please get involved, find out more and help us deliver long-awaited improvements to local services.
Construction work is under way to build a new facility on the former Walton Hospital site, off Rice Lane. Building work started in May 2013 and the new facility will be open in 2015. Below, left, is a photo from the ground breaking ceremony. See our press release and more photos.
There is no health without mental health - one in four of us will experience a mental health problem during our lifetime.
The project is more than bricks and mortar...it's primarily about improving the care people receive.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to build not only new facilities but also to adopt modern ways of working that will transform the patient experience.
The facilities will care for local people who need inpatient care, close to home and their families.
You talked - we listened. Now it's TIME to deliver.
New facilities will offer privacy and dignity with single en-suite bedrooms and bathrooms, access to safe garden areas and activity spaces.
