Mersey Care NHS Trust

Mersey Care NHS Trust was established on 1 April 2001 to provide specialist mental health and learning disability services for the people of Liverpool, Sefton, and Kirkby.

Our purpose is to see the person, meet the need and challenge the stigma.
 

We do this by:

  • leading a network of services to meet the health and social care needs of individuals and their carers
  • working with other agencies and the community to promote mental well-being and social inclusion
  • championing the rights, needs and aspirations of people with mental health difficulties and learning disabilities, tackling discrimination and stigma.
Mersey Care is one of only three trusts of its kind in the country providing the entire range of specialist mental health services. Offering medium secure services for Merseyside and Cheshire, and high secure services for England and Wales.
