The Triangle of Care

undefined

The Triangle of Care is a self-assessment tool for mental health providers developed by the Carers’ Trust in 2010. It’s based on the principle that care is made better by making sure there are good working relationships between the service user, the mental health professional and the carer.

It helps services think about how they engage carers and supports them in making changes that promote a carer aware culture on our wards and in our teams.

Mersey Care was the first Trust in the country to achieve the highest Triangle of Care award. But we’re not saying the job is done and we’ve got it all sorted for carers – far from it! We are learning all the time and we need our carers to come forward and contribute.

If you’re a carer and interested in finding out more about the Triangle of Care and other Carer initiatives please contact the People Participation Team on 0151 473 2952; or write to People Participation team Mersey Care NHS Trust, 36 Rodney Street, Liverpool, L3 1AA
