  • Whilst at the Trust, was seconded to the Department of Health for two days per week as the Deputy Director of Communications for the Prime Minister’s Dementia Challenge
  • Before joining Mersey Care in 2013, held post of Director of NHS Communications, supporting the two regional offices and 17 area teams of NHS England in the North and Midlands and East of England with strategic communications advice, management and support
  • From 2011 to 2012 was Director of Communications for NHS North of England, covering the North West, North East and Yorkshire and Humber areas of England accounting for an annual NHS spend of £33 billion and serving a population of 15 million people
  • From 2009 to 2011 was Director of Strategic Communications of NHS North West serving a population of seven million and accounting for an annual NHS spend of £15 billion
  • From 2007 to 2009 whilst at Guardian Media Group was a non-executive director at East Cheshire NHS Trust
  • Prior to joining the NHS in 2009, worked for Guardian Media Group’s Regional Division for 22 years in a number of posts including Marketing Director, Communications and Public Affairs Director
  • Other external and voluntary posts include Trustee of Medcare, a charity which runs and manages a primary care centre for children in Uganda.
