Performance in Initiating and Delivering Clinical Research
“The Government wishes to see a dramatic and sustained improvement in the performance of providers of NHS services in initiating and delivering clinical research. The aim is to increase the number of patients who have the opportunity to participate in research and to enhance the nation’s attractiveness as a host for research,” - National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).
The NIHR publishes performance data for clinical trials. From 2014-15 Local Clinical Research Networks (LCRN) and their Category A partner organisations are to provide data on performance in initiating and delivering clinical research to the NIHR Central Commissioning Facility on a quarterly basis and to publish this information on their website.
