Chlamydia is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections in the UK and can lead to severe complications including infertility. Most men and women show NO symptoms and you may not even know if you had it. Around 10% of sexually active young people who test for Chlamydia in Liverpool are infected with Chlamydia.
Gonorrhoea is the second most common bacterial sexually transmitted infection in the UK. It is found most frequently in young people under the age of 25, in men who have sex with men and people living in large cities.
- We recommend that you get tested after every change in partner and every year in a relationship.
- The only way you can be sure that you do not have genital Chlamydia and/or Gonorrhoea is to get tested. There are no painful or embarrassing tests. For men it is just a simple pee in a pot and for women an easy self-taken vaginal swab.
- It's free. It's simple. It's confidential.
