Visiting arrangements

Visits to service users in our adult mental health and older adult/complex care mental health inpatient wards in Liverpool and Sefton must all be pre-booked.

All visits within these services are to be arranged directly with each inpatient area. Patients may be allowed more than one visit per week and more than visitor at a time, however this will need to be agreed in advance with the ward team. Children may also visit inpatient areas, but again this must be agreed in advance of a visit by the ward’s multi-disciplinary team, and they should be booked for designated family rooms.

All visits are dependent on availability of visitor slots and safe space in which to meet. This could mean the number of visitors and frequency may differ from ward to ward at various times depending on the space available (to safely socially-distance in designated visitor areas).

Visitors will be asked to complete screening questions both when booking a visit and on arrival at the ward for their visit. This process includes giving their full name and up to date contact details. This will be used to track and trace if there is an outbreak of COVID-19 on the wards.

Upon arrival at hospital, visitors should sanitise their hands and wear a face mask, which must be kept on at all times at hospital – face masks and sanitizer are available at the Reception (visitors may wear their own face masks if preferred). We would ask all visitors to support us in maintaining the health and safety of our patients, staff, and visitors.
