Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea are bacterial infections which can be passed on during unprotected vaginal, oral and anal sex. They are the most common sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in the UK and they can cause problems such as discharge, pain when passing urine, fertility issues and testicular pain if left untreated. They can both be cured with antibiotics.
1 in 10 sexually active young people in Liverpool test positive for Chlamydia.
The only way to be sure that you do not have Chlamydia or Gonorrhoea is to get tested, because most men and women show no symptoms.
You or your partner could be infected and may not even know it.
