Who we are
Our team provides an assessment service for Sefton Council to determine eligibility for the Blue Badge Scheme.
We deal with people primarily with mobility problems from birth, ensuring that all Blue Badge applications meet the Department for Transport Criteria.
Applicants from north and south Sefton are seen at a community venue where they are provided with info regarding the correct use of the Blue Badge.
Additional interventions include the focus on activities of daily living and coping strategies.
Advice is given to applicants, carers and professional colleagues via telephone, face to face contact or written reports.
There is NO referral for a Blue Badge. Anybody in North or South Sefton can make an application for a Blue Badge. However, applications will only be accepted from persons who are resident in the Sefton area for a minimum of six months of the year.
All Sefton Libraries have a stock of application forms. Or people can request at One Stop Shops in The Cambridge Arcade, Southport or Stanley Road, Bootle.

The journey of the application from receipt in the office varies but all applications following the assessed route (those that do not fulfil the Automatic criteria) will have a desk based assessment by the Occupational Therapist. From this a clinical decision is made on the next stage of the application.
