Our Operational Plan 2026 to 2027

Our Operational Plan for the year was approved by the Board of Directors on 21 May and sets out what we will focus on over the next year to keep improving care, support our people and make the best use of our resources. It explains how we will deliver our Strategic Framework in a challenging financial and operational environment, while continuing to provide safe, high-quality and compassionate care.

The plan focuses on improving access and flow, reducing unwarranted variation, increasing productivity and efficiency, and strengthening our approach to quality improvement. It also sets out how we will continue to support staff wellbeing, inclusion and engagement, recognising that our people are central to everything we do.

This year, we will continue to move care closer to home, strengthen prevention and make better use of digital technology and data. We will do this through our whole-person model of care, our community health offer, and strong partnerships across Cheshire and Merseyside.

In summary, the plan will help us to:

  • Deliver safer, more consistent and effective services
  • Improve access, flow and waiting times
  • Support staff wellbeing, inclusion and experience
  • Make better use of our money, buildings, data and digital tools
  • Work with partners to develop new models of care in neighbourhoods
  • Continue to reduce inequalities and improve outcomes for the communities we serve.
