Summer catch up clinics help children get vaccinated for school return
Parents and carers from Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton and St Helens are being invited to attend summer catch up clinics to ensure vaccinations are up to date before the return to school in September.
Mersey Care's summer catch up clinics provide an opportunity for secondary school children - primary school children received missed vaccinations from their GP practice - to receive missed vaccinations, including MMR (measles, mumps and rubella). HPV, teenage booster vaccinations, Meningitis ACWY. More information about dates and venues for clinics can be found on our vaccinations and immunisations webpage.

Ukraine delegation visits Mersey Care
A delegation from Ukraine and the World Health Organisation (WHO) visited Liverpool to share learning on mental health care rooted in human rights, compassion and recovery. The visit was part of the WHO’s QualityRights programme, which supports Ukraine’s ongoing mental health reform and focuses on community based, trauma informed care.
Delegates took part in discussions, workshops and visits to services including Mossley Hill, Aspen Wood and The Life Rooms (see picture below). The visit was an important opportunity to learn from one another, share best practice and strengthen care that puts people first. The visit also highlights Mersey Care’s national work to reduce restrictive practice through the HOPE(S) model, supporting safer, more compassionate care across the country. More information is available on the news pages of our website.

Carer's Week 2026: How we’re supporting carers across our communities
During Carer’s Week, we celebrated the incredible dedication, compassion and strength of unpaid carers and shared a few of the ways Mersey Cares has been supporting our Carer Engagement Team and carers across our communities.
From funding arts and crafts materials for therapeutic activities at Carers’ Cafes to working with local businesses to help fund wellbeing packs for young carers – funding and donations really make a difference. Thanks to the micro-commissioning of a Carer Engagement Officer, we’ve also been able to enhance support for carers across underrepresented communities.
