Mersey Care was awarded funding via the ADDER Project to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequality for vulnerable service users with addictions, coming through the criminal justice system. As a result of the funding, in the last year, Brook Place community addictions team has achieved so much and has successfully:

  • linked over 100 people in to respiratory services at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS FT
  • supported court disposals in partnership with probation services in the form of community sentences on Drug Rehabilitation Requirements (DRRs)
  • supported priority prolific offenders (PPOs)
  • started offering Buvidal as a treatment pathway for those on opiate prescribing substitutes
  • works closely with rough sleeper agencies and homeless health partners to encourage rough sleepers to access support.
