Residents in Halton and Warrington are set to benefit from a new specialist service to support autistic adults and aims to improve mental health, social confidence and independence.
The new Autism Post Diagnosis Support Service for adults is designed to provide tailored, post diagnostic support to adults (18+) who have received an Autism Spectrum Condition diagnosis in the areas.
“This service is a vital step in ensuring autistic adults receive the support they need to thrive. It’s about helping people understand their diagnosis, build life skills, and feel more connected and confident in their communities,” said Dr Sonia Anderson, the Clinical Lead for Autism at Mersey Care.
The service is open to adults registered with a Halton or Warrington GP and is accessible via referral from health professionals or self referral.
The service offers flexible delivery with local group face to face appointments, virtual options or one to one where needed.
