NHS England will shortly begin contacting a small number of selected patients who have out of date contact details within the NHS App to request they update their information.

The campaign is part of their continued efforts to improve patient details, which are crucial to the NHS being able to contact them about their healthcare so it's vital to have the most up to date information.

By turning on notifications in the NHS app, patients can receive instant messages in relation to upcoming appointments. By following a few simple steps, patients can update their email address and mobile number, helping to eliminate bounce-back messages and reduce the number of missed appointments.

Anyone can check and update their contact details in the NHS App at any time. NHS England will be contacting a small number of patients for whom they have inaccurate details and there is no need for patients to take any action unless they are prompted to do so.
