Mersey Care is marking the start of Freshers’ activities across Merseyside by putting together a package of services designed to ensure new students to the region have care at hand for their physical and mental health needs.

Starting University is an exciting time for students, with many moving out of family homes and local areas for the first time to begin this new chapter of their lives. With this change comes new friends, new opportunities, new hobbies and for some, new stresses and anxieties.

Dr Noir Thomas, Mersey Care’s Medical Director, said: “Mersey Care is here to offer support to students during this period of transition and throughout University life.

“We want to help students enjoy their time here in Merseyside, knowing our services are accessible. It's been a tough couple of years for students and young people, so it’s essential we promote our services now more than ever, so no young person feels alone.”

To support with this promotion, Mersey Care have created a Freshers Week animation which can be seen below:

We have also put together a short video explaining the benefits of using our Walk In Centres, which you can see below:

Other key pages for students can be found on our website. They include:

Finally, we want to take this opportunity to welcome students to Merseyside. Enjoy your time here and make the most of every opportunity, but most of all look after yourselves, check on your friends, and stay safe.
