Research in the NHS is essential in helping to improve the health and wellbeing of our population and is included within the guiding principles of the NHS Constitution.  There is also evidence to suggest that when healthcare organisations engage in research, it’s likely to have a positive impact on their performance and patient outcomes.

We are proud to be a research active organisation and we are dedicated to supporting clinical research.  We take part in a variety of different research projects and are always looking for new research opportunities to offer to our patients, carers and staff to support the development of treatments for ourselves and future generations.

'I am really enjoying being part of an exciting and interesting project, as a service user, this concept is very personal and relevant to me and to be able to take part in such a project with great people is a real honour.'

Paul, service user
