It is important to be aware of the different exercise programmes to ensure you continue exercising after you graduate from the pulmonary rehabilitation programme.

Cycle back to health

Cycle related activity all year round - a leaflet is available with further information, upon request

  • Run by highly qualified and experienced Advanced Respiratory Specialist Nurses
  • Supported by Respiratory Consultant
  • Eligible for Sefton patients who have COPD or Bronchiectasis (with fixed airflow obstruction)
  • Service operates Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm
  • Patient must have contact with GP if this is an exacerbation and is referred by the GP
  • Aim to avoid hospital admission by optimising the patients treatment
  • Can prescribe antibiotics, steroids, nebulisers, inhalers etc
  • Can also arrange oxygen assessments, chest x-rays and refer to other services.

The British Lung Foundation works across the UK to ensure everyone affected by a lung condition is given the treatment and care they deserve.

Active Walks Sefton

Provides local organised walks throughout Sefton, free of chare. The pace is set by the group.

South Sefton Carers Centre

Do you look after someone who couldn’t manage without your help? Sefton Carers Centre provides free advice and guidance, practical and emotional support, training and a range of holistic therapies for unpaid carers living in Sefton.

  • Offer carers courses and regular activities to promote emotional resilience including counselling, holistic therapies and a listening ear service (chat)
