Brain Injury Awareness Event

Brian Injury Awareness Event

During Brain Injury Awareness Week (11 to 18 March, 2012) some of the help and support that is available here in Merseyside to people who have an acquired brain injury, and their carers, was spotlighted.

The Lord Mayor of Liverpool Councillor Frank Prendergast officially opened an Awareness Day event on Friday 16 March, which ran from 10.30am to 4pm, at the Neurosupport Centre, Norton Street, Liverpool, and organised by Mersey Care NHS Trust’s Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre. A number of agencies were on hand to give advice on, on debt, advocacy, employment and health; there was interactive entertainment from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic’s musicians in residence and Ash the Rapper; fitness and creative art sessions; wellbeing from lifestyle advisors; and talks from a service user about living with brain injury, and more.
