Assessment and treatment for adults (over19) who are registered with a Liverpool GP. Includes home visits, continence product support, and education for care providers.
The team of nurses will offer advice, assessment and treatment for managing bladder and bowel dysfunction to patients who are registered with a Liverpool GP.
You will be assessed in one of our clinics, or in your own home (or nursing or residential care setting). Depending on the outcome, you will be supported by your GP or referred to our care.
Patients can be referred by your GP or by using the Choose and Book system.
Often continence problems are treatable with simple modifications to diet, lifestyle and pelvic floor muscle strengthening exercises.
We work with you to promote healthy bladder and bowels, to improve your quality of life and promote dignity and independence.
We provide care that is evidence based and led by our clinical experience.
Our team consists of specialist continence clinicians and a pelvic floor physiotherapist.
At your appointment we will ask you to help us. Please ensure you complete any charts or documents sent out with your appointment letter and bring along to your appointment. The chart is designed to help assess how your bladder and bowel functions, both at home and at work.
By filling this form in correctly you will help us accurately diagnose your condition.

- Lifestyle advice and education
- Fluid intake advice
- Pelvic floor muscle training
- Strategies to avoid constipation
- Bowel management.
You will be given a follow up appointment to review your progress with your agreed treatment plan.
