Our Services
Video campaign launched to help ease winter pressures
We’ve launched a series of videos designed to ease the strain on services this winter and urge residents to go to their nearest walk-in centre (WIC) or urgent treatment centre (UTC) for non-emergency issues.
The five videos have been released to raise awareness on how to use these services and help ease the demand on A&E services during the winter months. The videos cover several different topics and can be found on our website.
Mossley Hill on course to being operational
Greatest Hits Radio and other stakeholders have been given a tour of our new state of the art mental health facility at Mossley Hill, ahead of the final preparations to make the 80 bed inpatient unit fully operational.
The national radio station was given a tour of the site, which includes four single sex wards for male and female patients and also interviewed Chief Executive Officer Trish Bennett, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr Anna Richman and Chief Nurse, Jenny Hurst about the new facility and its significance in ending dormitory style mental health care in Liverpool.
The new facility, built on the grounds of the former Mossley Hill Hospital, has a nod to its Liverpool heritage within it, displays striking photography of landmarks from across the city and ward names with links to notable figures from the city’s history. More information on the new facility can be found on our website.

Our Research
Understanding the impact of social prescribing on mental health and wellbeing
The Mental Health Research for Innovation Centre (M-RIC) recently held a workshop to explore a potential research project on the impact of a new social prescribing scheme called Citizens Advice on Prescription.
It involves health professionals in both primary care (GPs) and secondary care (hospitals) referring patients directly to Citizens Advice so they can get support for non-medical issues that can significantly affect their health and wellbeing.
Over 25 M-RIC public members took part in a thought provoking discussion at the event and the feedback will be used to inform the research project’s future development. Read more about the workshop and the project on the M-RIC website.
Tashi’s story, “M-RIC has brought about such a positive change in my life”
In a new blog on the M-RIC website, M-RIC Service User and Carer Representative, Tashi reflects on her mental health journey, how running and voluntary work help to keep her mental health on track and why she is passionate about championing research.
