Who we are
Knowsley Centre for Independent Living aims to support people to maintain their independence and mobility.
The Centre for Independent Living is based at Huyton Business Park in Knowsley and has an open plan showroom with a wide range of equipment and supportive aids that you can view and test. Our display includes:
- Stairlifts and lifts
- Wet rooms
- Adapted toilets and bath chairs
- Grab rails
- Level access showers
- Small kitchen aids
- Beds
- Lifeline alarms
- Wheelchairs
- Walking aids
- Large aids and adaptions
We deliver a number of our community health services from the Centre for Independent Living, including our Aids and Adaptations Service, our Falls and Wellbeing Service, our Integrated Community Equipment Service (ICES), and our Wheelchair Service.
The Centre for Independent Living is available for anyone living in Knowsley or has a Knowsley GP.
The Centre for Independent Living is run in partnership with voluntary organisations, Knowsley Council and Livv Housing Group. It gives you access to a wide range of equipment and experts that can support you to live independently
The centre is registered with Changing Places, a charity that works with organisations and venues to provide fully accessible toilets. Our toilets are suitable for people with disabilities and include extra features such as a height adjustable changing bench and space in the changing area for up to three people.
