A dietitian is a degree qualified health professional who:

  • Helps to promote nutritional wellbeing, by aiming to prevent, assess, diagnose and treat nutrition related problems
  • Provides practical, safe advice, based on current scientific evidence to enable people to make appropriate lifestyle and dietary choices.

The aim of the community Dietetic Team is to provide a comprehensive dietetic service that meets the health care needs of the local community. This involves developing and promoting effective clinical services to provide treatment to a range of medical conditions which can benefit from intervention.

We can provide individualised advice on a number of nutritional health related concerns, including nutrition support, weight management, diabetes and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
